Dirty Jobs: Cleaning HVAC Coils

Cleaning HVAC coils can be a dirty job. Dirty HVAC coils can be a breeding ground for bacteria, fungi and microbes. Almost anything that contacts a coil’s surface can serve as a blockage. Grease, dirt, dust, smoke and microorganisms can cause a barrier, reducing efficiency, increasing operating costs and furthering the likelihood of equipment failure. HVAC coils must be cleaned properly in order for your system to function effectively, and this can be tricky.

HVAC coils are very delicate, and a standard hose can cause serious damage. Each part of your HVAC system needs to function properly and optimally, but the coils are where the system provides the transfer of heat. Without this, you will be eating up resources and energy, and you’d better believe that it will reflect in your bill.

A dirty coil results in greater energy consumption, and can use up to 37% more energy than a clean coil. Additionally, your cooling capacity could go down by as much as 30%, leading to equipment failure and costly repair.

This is why we are the experts in coil cleaning. We use a medium pressure/low water volume cleaning pressure to apply and remove site-specific cleaning chemistry with 100% water capture and disposal. 100% water recapture allows chemicals to remove oxide and provides for a true coil cleaning. Rinse water is discharged to a sanitary drain or hauled off site with zero discharge to a ‘storm drain’.

It’s a dirty job, but somebody has to do it, for the sake of our environment. We do the dirty work that saves money, resources and the planet. HVAC coil cleaning is low maintenance, and helps to lower emissions, improve airflow and defer capital costs.
